What Is Landman About?
Landman Is A Drama Series Centered On The Oil Industry In West Texas. The Story Focuses On The People Who Work Around Oil Fields, From Professionals Who Manage Business Problems To Workers Who Face Physical Risks On The Ground. Instead Of Showing Only The Financial Side Of Energy Production, The Series Also Explores How The Industry Affects Families, Relationships, And Local Communities.
Tommy Norris Sits Near The Center Of This World. His Job Requires Him To Handle Conflicts, Negotiate With Different People, And Respond To Problems That Can Have Serious Financial Or Personal Consequences. His Professional Responsibilities Often Follow Him Home, Making It Difficult To Separate Work From Family Life.
The Show Also Examines The Relationship Between Money And Power. Oil Can Create Enormous Opportunities, But It Can Also Bring Uncertainty, Conflict, And Danger. By Following Several Interconnected Characters, Landman Gives Viewers Different Perspectives On The Industry And The People Whose Lives Depend On It.
Billy Bob Thornton As Tommy Norris
Billy Bob Thornton Plays Tommy Norris, The Central Character In Landman. Tommy Works In The Oil Business And Is Responsible For Managing Complicated Situations That Require Practical Thinking, Negotiation, And Quick Decisions. He Often Finds Himself Between Powerful Business Interests And The Workers Or Families Affected By The Industry.
Tommy Is Not Presented As Someone With An Easy Life. His Work Can Be Stressful, And His Decisions May Have Consequences Beyond The Office. He Must Deal With Business Conflicts While Also Trying To Maintain Relationships With His Children And Other Family Members. This Combination Makes Him More Than A Typical Corporate Drama Character.
Thornton Is An Experienced Actor, Writer, Director, And Musician. He Is Known For Projects Such As Sling Blade, A Simple Plan, And The Television Series Fargo. His Experience With Complicated Characters Helps Him Portray Tommy As A Person Who Can Be Tough, Frustrated, Humorous, And Vulnerable At Different Moments.
For Viewers Searching For The Main Actor In Landman, Thornton Is The Most Important Name To Know. His Performance Gives The Series A Strong Center And Connects Many Of Its Business And Family Storylines.
Ali Larter As Angela Norris
Ali Larter Plays Angela Norris, Tommy’s Former Partner And The Mother Of Their Children. Angela Is An Important Part Of The Family Story Because Her Relationship With Tommy Continues To Influence Their Personal Lives. Although Tommy Spends Much Of His Time Handling Work Problems, His Family Responsibilities Remain A Major Part Of His Life.
Angela Has Her Own Personality, Priorities, And Expectations. She Is Not Simply Present To Support Tommy’s Story. Her Interactions With Him Show How Past Relationships Can Continue To shape Everyday Decisions, Especially When Children And Family Responsibilities Are Involved.
Larter Has Appeared In Films And Television Projects Including Final Destination, Legally Blonde, And Heroes. Her Performance In Landman Adds Energy And Emotional Complexity To The Norris Family Storyline.
Angela’s Character Also Helps Balance The Series. The Oil Business Can Feel Large And Impersonal, But Family Relationships Make Its Consequences More Human. Through Angela, Viewers See How Tommy’s Professional World Can Affect The People Closest To Him.
Jacob Lofland As Cooper Norris
Jacob Lofland Plays Cooper Norris, Tommy’s Son. Cooper’s Story Connects The Family Drama With The Practical Realities Of Working In The Oil Industry. While Tommy Has Experience And Responsibilities In Management, Cooper Is Building His Own Understanding Of The Business And The Risks That Come With It.
His Experiences Help Show That The Oil Industry Is Not Only About Wealthy Executives And Large Companies. It Also Depends On People Who Perform Demanding Work In Difficult Conditions. Cooper’s Journey Brings Questions About Independence, Responsibility, Safety, And The Choices Young Adults Make When They Begin Their Careers.
Lofland Is Also Known For His Work In Mud And The Maze Runner Film Series. His Performance Gives Cooper A Distinct Place Within The Norris Family Rather Than Making Him A Simple Copy Of His Father.
Cooper’s Relationship With Tommy Is Especially Important Because The Two Men Do Not Always Approach Life From The Same Position. Their Different Experiences Create Opportunities For Conflict, Learning, And Personal Growth. This Makes Cooper One Of The Characters Worth Following Closely.
Michelle Randolph As Ainsley Norris
Michelle Randolph Plays Ainsley Norris, Tommy And Angela’s Daughter. Her Character Adds Another Perspective To The Norris Family And Helps Show How The Parents’ Complicated Relationship Affects Their Children In Different Ways.
Ainsley’s Story Is Connected To Family Expectations, Personal Relationships, And The Challenges Of Growing Up In A Family Where Work And Conflict Often take Center Stage. Her experiences help broaden The Series Beyond Tommy’s Professional Responsibilities And Cooper’s Experiences In The Oil Fields.
Randolph Has Also Appeared In 1923, Another Taylor Sheridan Production. Her Work In Landman Shows How Younger Characters Can Contribute To A Story That Also Features Established Actors And Serious Business Conflicts.
Ainsley Is Important Because A Family Does Not Experience Pressure In Just One Way. Tommy, Angela, Cooper, And Ainsley Have Different Needs And Personalities, And Their Interactions Give The Series Much Of Its Emotional Texture.
Demi Moore As Cami Miller
Demi Moore Plays Cami Miller, A Character Connected To The Powerful Business Side Of The Oil Industry. Through Cami, The Series Explores The Personal Relationships And Difficult Decisions That Can Exist Alongside Wealth, Influence, And Corporate Responsibility.
Cami’s Story Is Closely Linked To Monty Miller And The Business World Surrounding Him. Her Character Helps Show That The People Connected To Major Oil Companies Have Personal Lives And Concerns That Cannot Always Be Separated From Their Professional Positions.
Moore Has Had A Long Career In Hollywood, With Notable Films Including Ghost, A Few Good Men, And G.I. Jane. Her Presence In Landman Brings Considerable Acting Experience To The Ensemble.
Cami Adds Another Layer To The Show’s View Of Power. The Series Is Not Only Interested In The People Who Handle Everyday Problems In The Oil Fields. It Also Looks At The People Whose Decisions Can Influence Companies, Money, And The Future Of Others.
Jon Hamm As Monty Miller
Jon Hamm Plays Monty Miller, An Important Figure In The Oil Business. Monty Represents The Corporate Side Of The Industry, Where Financial Decisions, Business Relationships, And Long-Term Interests Can Affect Many People.
His Character Helps Expand The Story Beyond Tommy’s Immediate Family And Workplace Responsibilities. Through Monty, Viewers Get A Better Sense Of The Wider Business Environment In Which Tommy Operates. The Relationship Between Their Professional Worlds Adds Tension To The Series Because Business Decisions Can Create Consequences For People At Different Levels Of The Industry.
Hamm Is Widely Recognized For Playing Don Draper In Mad Men. He Has Also Appeared In Projects Such As Baby Driver And Top Gun: Maverick. His Experience Playing Confident, Complicated Characters Suits The Demands Of Landman.
Monty And Tommy Represent Different Positions Within The Same Industry. Their Stories Help Explain Why The Oil Business Involves More Than Physical Work Or Daily Problem-Solving. It Also Depends On Negotiation, Investment, Influence, And Decisions Made Far Away From The Oil Fields.
Sam Elliott As T. L. Norris
Sam Elliott Joins The Landman Cast As T. L. Norris, Tommy’s Father. His Character Becomes Especially Important As The Story Develops Beyond Its First Season. T. L. Brings A Different Generation’s Experience Into The Family Drama, Creating Opportunities To Explore The Relationship Between Parents, Children, And The Values Passed Between Them.
Elliott Is Famous For His Deep Voice And Memorable Roles In Westerns And Dramas. His Career Includes Tombstone, The Big Lebowski, And A Star Is Born. He Often Plays Characters Who Carry A Strong Sense Of History And Personal Identity, Qualities That Fit The World Of Landman.
T. L.’s Presence Gives Tommy Another Family Relationship To Navigate. Tommy Is Already Balancing His Responsibilities As A Father With The Demands Of His Career. His Relationship With His Own Father Adds More Context To His Decisions And Helps Viewers Understand The Family Background Behind His Personality.
For Viewers Exploring The Landman Season 2 Cast, Elliott Is One Of The Most Notable Additions To The Story. His Character Expands The Norris Family Narrative And Gives The Series Another Experienced Performer Who Can Bring Quiet Authority To Important Scenes.
Andy Garcia As Gallino
Andy Garcia Plays Gallino, A Powerful Figure Whose Connections Add Tension To The Business And Criminal Elements Of Landman. His Character Introduces Another Kind Of Influence Into The Story, One That Does Not Always Follow The Rules Of Ordinary Corporate Negotiation.
Gallino’s Role Helps Show How Business Relationships In The Series Can Become Complicated When Money, Personal Interests, And Risk Come Together. His Interactions With Other Characters Add Uncertainty, Since People In This World Must Often Think Carefully About Whom They Trust And What They Are Willing To Do.
Garcia Has Appeared In Many Recognized Films, Including The Godfather Part III, Ocean’s Eleven, And The Untouchables. His Experience In Crime Dramas And Character-Driven Films Makes Him A Natural Fit For A Series That Moves Between Corporate Power And Dangerous Situations.
Although Gallino Is Not Part Of Tommy’s Immediate Family, His Presence Helps Widen The Story. He Represents The Outside Forces That Can Complicate Decisions And Push Characters Into Situations They Cannot Easily Control.
Other Important Landman Cast Members
The Supporting Cast Is Essential To The Success Of Landman. The Series Needs More Than A Few Central Characters To Make Its Oil Fields, Offices, And Communities Feel Like A Living World. Supporting Performers Help Show The Different People Who Keep The Industry Running And The families Whose Lives Become Connected To It.
Paulina Chávez Plays Ariana, A Character Whose Story Connects With Cooper Norris. Their Relationship Brings Personal Emotion Into Cooper’s Journey And Helps Show That Life In The Oil Industry Affects More Than The People Directly Employed By Companies. Ariana’s Experiences Also Help Broaden The Series’ View Of Family, Loss, And Starting Again.
Kayla Wallace Plays Rebecca Falcone, A Lawyer Whose Work Connects Legal Questions With The Oil Business. Her Character Is Important Because Accidents, Contracts, And Corporate Responsibilities Can Lead To Serious Legal Problems. Rebecca’s Professional Perspective Helps Viewers Understand That The Industry Depends On Lawyers And Other Specialists As Well As Field Workers And Executives.
Mark Collie Appears As Sheriff Walt Joeberg, Bringing A Law-Enforcement Perspective To The Story. James Jordan Plays Dale Bradley, While Colm Feore Appears As Nathan. Mustafa Speaks Plays Boss, A Character Connected To The Working Side Of The Oil Fields. These Performances Help Make The Series Feel Larger Than Tommy’s Personal Story.
The Broader Cast Also Includes Performers Such As Michael Peña, Whose Character Armando Adds Another Personality To The Oil-field world. Some Actors Have Recurring Roles, While Others Appear In Specific Episodes Or Storylines. Checking Episode Credits Is The Best Way To Understand How Each Person Contributes Without Confusing Guest Performers With Regular Cast Members.

The First Season Also Introduces Supporting Characters Who Help Show The Risks Of Working Around Oil Operations. This Structure Helps Viewers Understand Why The Oil Industry Can Affect So Many Different Lives.
The First Season Premiered On Paramount+ In November 2024. For Anyone Searching For The Original Landman Cast, It Is Useful To Start With The Main Characters And Then Explore The Recurring And Guest Performers Listed In The Episode Credits.

Season 2 Is Worth Considering Separately Because A Cast Can Change Between Seasons. Some Characters gain more screen time, while others become less central or return in different circumstances. Readers Who Want To Know Who Appears In A Particular Season Should Check The Official Cast Information And Episode Credits Rather Than Relying On A General Series List.
As Of October 2026, Landman Has Also Been Renewed For A Third Season, With Production Reported To Have Begun In October 2026. Michael Kelly Has Been Announced As A New Addition Playing William Crockett, A Powerful Oil Executive. A Confirmed Release Date Should Be Checked Against Official Announcements Before Publication.
Who Created Landman?
Landman Was Co-Created By Taylor Sheridan And Christian Wallace. Sheridan Is Known For Creating And Developing Television Stories Set In distinctive American communities, including Yellowstone. Wallace Brought His Knowledge Of The Oil Industry And The People Connected To It Into The Series’ Development.
The Show Draws On The World Explored In The Boomtown Podcast From Imperative Entertainment And Texas Monthly. That Background Helps Explain The Series’ Interest In The People Behind Oil Production, From Field Workers To Executives Who Make High-Stakes Decisions.
Sheridan’s Writing Often Places Characters In Situations Where Personal Values Conflict With Business Interests. In Landman, This Approach Creates Stories About Work, Family, Wealth, And Responsibility. Wallace’s Connection To The Subject Also Helps Ground The Show In The Culture And Challenges Of Oil-Producing Communities.
The Creative Team Matters Because The Actors Need Strong Characters And Convincing Situations To Bring The Story To Life. The Writing Connects The Individual Cast Members, Giving Their Separate Storylines A Shared Setting And A Common Set Of Pressures.
Behind The Scenes
The Actors Are Only One Part Of The Production. Directors, Writers, Producers, Editors, Cinematographers, And Other Crew Members Help Shape The Final Episodes. Their Work Influences Everything From The Pace Of A Scene To The Way West Texas Looks And Feels On Screen.
Taylor Sheridan Has Directed Episodes Of The Series, Alongside Other Directors Including Stephen Kay And Michael Friedman. The Production Also Relies On Cinematography, Editing, Sound, Music, And Production Design To Build A Believable World Around The Characters.
The Setting Is Especially Important. Wide Landscapes, Industrial Sites, Roads, Offices, And Family Homes Help Create A Contrast Between The Scale Of The Oil Business And The Private Lives Of The People Involved. These Visual Choices Support The Series’ Themes Without Requiring Every Detail To Be Explained Through Dialogue.
Music And Sound Also Help Establish Mood, From The Tension Of A Workplace Emergency To The Quieter Moments Of Family Conflict. The Cast May Be The Most Visible Part Of Landman, But The Work Behind The Camera Helps Make Their Performances Feel Connected And Complete.
How The Cast Brings The Story To Life
One Of The Strongest Features Of The Landman Cast Is Its Range Of Perspectives. Thornton’s Tommy Norris Often Has To Solve Problems Between Different Groups, While Cooper’s Story Shows The Challenges Faced By Someone Building A Future In The Industry. Angela And Ainsley Add Family Concerns, And Cami And Monty Show How Corporate Decisions Can Affect The Wider Business.
The Ensemble Also Combines Actors With Different Career Backgrounds. Thornton, Moore, Hamm, Elliott, Garcia, And Larter Bring Experience From Films And Television, While Other Performers Help Develop The Series’ Supporting Stories. Their Different Styles Give The Show Variety And Help Prevent Its Large Cast From Feeling One-Dimensional.
Another Strength Is The Contrast Between The Oil Fields And Corporate Offices. Workers Face Physical Risks, While Executives Consider Money, Ownership, And Long-Term Strategy. Both Sides Have Consequences, And The Characters Often Discover That No Decision Exists In Isolation.
This Is Why A Useful Cast Guide Should Explain Character Relationships Instead Of Only Listing Names. Understanding Who Tommy’s Family Members Are, Who Holds Corporate Power, And Who Handles Legal Or Field Responsibilities Makes The Series Easier To Follow And Gives Readers A Better Reason To Keep Watching.
